This week was pretty uneventful. Well, we can't quite say that b/c no day is uneventful, but everyone was pretty busy with work and such that we did not get a chance to venture into the city too much. Monday was just a normal work day. I did find out though that the Monday morning meetings are too long and too hot. It took up more than a third of the morning. Greg's studio invited all of us out to karaoke that night, but everyone stayed in while Greg went out. It should be entertaining when we all go out together. They take it very serious. It's almost like a hotel where they put you in separate rooms with your party group and you have the room all night to sing. Greg's pictures were pretty entertaining.
The rest of the week was pretty much a blur so we'll recap quickly
- First and foremost, they turned the air on in the office - no more sticking to our trace... kinda
- Nicole and Aaron worked in circles on one project, while Aaron put in his late nights.
- I continued on the Childrens Playground design. The concept has turned pretty tropical and now i'm designing a tree house in the shape of a coconut... pretty interesting.
- Played soccer again on Tuesday night, not too much to say other than 2.5 hours of soccer is a lot of soccer!
- Tried to make it out to Hou Hai to visit a sweet music store, but everyones schedules has put it off (maybe next week).
- Went to Hou Hai last night to try and meet up with Tim. Greg, Nicole, and myself could not find the bar, it started to pour, greg about fell down some steps, nicole burned her arm on a lamp, and then we decided to just go eat at Cafe sambal and have some Malaysian Food. We never caught up with Tim b/c we never found the bar and had no way of communication (his minutes were out on his phone)
- The Hot weather has arrived. Between the HOT weather, the smog, car exhaust and dust, it's pretty brutal. We were sweating like crazy at Hou Hai last night looking for a restaurant.
- We also discovered that all the men take their shirts off and walk around the city when it gets hot. You'll go to a street corner where all the men either have their shirts off or rolled up b/c of the heat. We passed one restaurant where a guy was eating without a shirt on. mmm. mmm. good.
I think that's about it for now. We were going to visit the Forbidden City today, but Aaron and Nicole had a meeting at 10am (gotta love Saturday meetings). Hopefully all goes well and they will not be working crazy hours next week. We also found out we have a company retreat out to the Great Wall next weekend, so that should be pretty fun. I'm sure i'll be sharing our weekend stories in a few days, hope all is well, and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL!
